AcroMat is in the midst of significant growth. To make sure we are growing in lockstep with our people, our culture, and how we serve our clients, we felt it important to closely review our company values. This led to the creation of 4 brand-new company values:
-
Bring Contagious Energy
-
Make Good Things Happen
-
Pioneer New Paths
-
Do What's Right, Always
Since the launch of our new values, we've been chatting with AcroMat team members to learn what each value means to them. For Pioneer New Paths, Customer Service Lead Maggie Vandenlangenberg! Maggie is the first person our customers hear when they call, a key voice on our team, and true A-player. Get to know Maggie in the Q&A below!
What does “Pioneer New Paths” represent to you?
When I hear the phrase “Pioneer New Paths,” I envision someone who does what no one else has done and goes to the depths that no one else has gone. Pioneering takes resilience and bravery. It often results in monumental changes, but pioneering can also can occur in small ways that bring the day-to-day wins.
Obstacles are inevitable, but a true pioneer faces both small and big challenges head on. It takes bravery to try things nobody else is doing and to be unafraid to try something new even if you might fail. Pioneering takes initiative and a refusal to quit until a new way is paved.
How does this value contribute to the overall culture at AcroMat?
Working alongside individuals who go above and beyond and take initiate is highly motivating. This creates an environment of striving to be the best we can be in our industry. We work as a team to grow the company and find success together.
There’s a common belief that the anti-fatigue mat industry is boring and mundane. That couldn’t be farther from the truth! Here at AcroMat, we are excited to improve safety for our valued customers, and we are excited to go as far they need to do exactly that. AcroMat is changing our industry and safety for the better, and I find that really exciting.

Can you share a time when someone pioneered a new path at AcroMat?
Sharing only one instance when someone pioneered a new path is difficult because I can think of countless examples. One person that is a great leader and pioneer here at AcroMat is Rich Ward, our director of marketing. Rich has truly pioneered the way for our marketing department and has done it to the highest quality. He is quick to offer help when needed and does not give up. Rich is passionate about what he does. That passion is displayed in his work.
When I first started working at AcroMat, Rich was extremely helpful in showing me the ropes, guiding, and teaching me in my new role. Whether it’s researching the most effective types of advertising, teaching us about platforms like LinkedIn, or learning everything he can about anti-fatigue mats to do his job to the best of his ability, Rich is always up for the challenge.
How do you feel this value impacts your day-to-day work?
Day to day, our team is always finding new ways to get the job done. It may look like making a strategy to achieve our daily and weekly targets, finding a new way to reach a contact, or exploring the best way to serve our customers’ needs.
I am motivated daily by my colleagues, who are all so passionate about bringing safety into the workplace. We don’t settle for being just good enough.
What advice would you give to a new team member about pioneering new paths in their role?
Here at AcroMat, everyone's role plays a significant part in the company's success. A value like “Pioneering New Paths” gives us all the ability and motivation to step up and pave the way. Don’t sit around waiting for someone to follow, but instead take the initiative on your own.
Take the jump, try something new, make suggestions. It can be hard or scary at first, but we are here to help and support you!
